Farm Plan Templates

Farm plans can be difficult to get your head around.

Although I have outlined the standard format of whole farm plans on previous pages, who has time to sort through and set up what to do from there?

I have distilled a lot of work into a simple word document that sets up a template for you to use.

These templates are embarrassingly simple and hold no real bells and whistles. They are basically ready for you to copy and paste into any format you like. The basics are covered.

You can change wording, graphics, tables and anything else you like.

Be warned, either of the templates require work that either you or a consultant will have to complete!

Standard Whole Farm Template.

The standard template is just that. It follows the order, wording and sections of the Whole Farm Plan Training Package line by line.

It holds all of the requirements as outlined in the training package listed previously and provided on the Training.gov.au website.

if you cut and paste and filled in the provided sections with as much or as little information as you like, you'd be well on your way to compiling your own Whole Farm Plan.

Extensive Whole Farm Plan Template

The Extensive template provides for a much more comprehensive format to follow. I have based these on the "stuff that I would add" list provided on other pages.

The extensive template uses the Standard Template as its base, but prioritises and adds sections I feel were glaring omissions from any Farm Plan. For example how you neglect to mention Sustainable practice, Human resources, Climate change and a range of key topics is difficult to comprehend.

But the standard Whole Farm plan was aimed at the basics... I have just included some new basics!

The redacted templates.

I have included copies of the "redacted" versions of the templates  on this page and in the "forms" section of this website.

It will give you an idea of the extent and format (not the content) of what you will be getting.

These redacted templates will simply indicate the number of sections and topics.

These templates do not indicate the extent of the content of the sections, that will depend on you. The bare minimum you should expect is a page! But, for example, how you only allocate a page to Soils (descriptions, assessments, tests, classification etc) is a little unrealistic. Even the most casual observer with a beginners' field handbook should come up with more than that!

So the pages included are really just headings for you to complete. A little sobering when the Standard template is 12 pages,  and the Extensive template is 25 pages long!

All ready and waiting for you to fill in...!
